Inspector Wolf and the Fancy Feline    The ogre king’s old castle still held traces of his scent, but they were buried under the overpowering smell of cat. I sneezed. Cat hair was the worst. It had a nasty habit of getting stuck in my coat. I’d be brushing for a week just to get rid of it all. But I had a job to do, cat hair or no.
    I padded down the first hall I came to, checking at each doorway as I passed for signs that the cat was in there. It would do me no good to check for lit rooms. Only the human staff needed to bother with lighting the candles. That was just fine with me. Cats weren’t the only creatures with excellent night vision.
    Some time after midnight I found the little fur ball. He had taken up residence at the very top of the south tower. Typical. Cats always went for the high places.
