What a crazy week. Had three tests and one presentation in three days. So glad to be done with it all and have more time to write again. =D

Got this from :iconleah-the-red:
I don’t know why, but I really enjoy getting into character’s heads for answering these questions. It is fun to try to imagine being someone else, even a creep like this guy from Tabula Rasa series.

Rules
1) Pick one of your FCs/OCs
2) Fill in the questions/statements as if you were your FC/OC
3) Tag 3 people at the end of the quiz

1) What's your name?
Fredrick Jameson, but you may call me Dr. Jameson.

2) Do you know why you were named that?
I was named after my mother’s father.

3) Are you single or taken?
Single.

4) Have any abilities or powers?
“ Powers?” Uh, no. I do possess a very high IQ and the ability to work through difficult problems though.

5) Stop being a Mary-sue.
Huh? I am not familiar with this term. Perhaps you could enlighten me?

6) If you fought a wrestler who would win?
Depends on whether or not they let me fight dirty…

7) Riiiight... Have any family members?
Mother is still living, and I have one older brother. Not really interested in seeing them right now though.

8) Oh? How about pets?
Hmm. Yes, I suppose Daniel could count as a pet. Probably…

9) Cool, I guess. Tell me something that you don't like.
The fact that I never seem to be able to hire assistants who don’t end up being either completely useless or backstabbing me in some way.

10) Something that you do like?
The satisfaction of having control over my life and the lives of others.

11) Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
Reading scientific journals.

12) Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?
But of course. Who hasn’t?

13) Ever...killed anyone before?
Who’s asking?

14) What kind of animal are you?
Uh, what? Do you really think an animal could answer all of these stupid questions you’ve been asking?

15) Name your worst habits.
*sigh* My temper, though I have made significant progress with it. Self-control is very important, you know.

16) Do you look up to anyone at all?
Not really.

17) Gay, straight, or bi?
Straight. Why do you ask? :horny:

18) Do you go to school?
Not any more, no.

19) Ever wanna marry and have kids one day?
No. Not interested.

20) Do you have any fangirls/fanboys?
Uhg, I wish you would stop using all this… this strange language.

21) What are you most afraid of?
Jail. I think it would drive me mad if they ever, uh, caught up with me and locked me away.

22) What colour is your hair?
Honey blond.

23) Eyes?
Brown.

24) What do you usually wear?
A white shirt and pants, as well as my laboratory coat. Clean and simple. It sends a message of professionalism.

25) Do you wish this quiz is over?
Now that you mention it, yes. I kind of need to be focusing on getting ready to go… somewhere else at the moment.

26) Well, it's still not over.
*sigh* Fine, if you insist…

27) Anyways, where do you live?
I really don’t think you need to know. The USA, how’s that?

28) What class are you? (Low class, middle class, high class)?
Labeling like that is so petty. Hmm, I guess I would say middle.

29) How many friends do you have?
Just Daniel, but he is a very good friend indeed. Well trained, perfectly loyal. An all around good dog.

31) If you could change anything about yourself, what would you change?
You know, I have always wondered what it would be like to become one of the dog-men. Sadly all of my experiments with trying to initiate a transformation in normal, human subjects have been a failure. Oh well, loving yourself as you are is a very important element of adjusting to life.

32) What is your thought on pie?
It’s fine, but I don’t eat it much myself. It does make a good treat for Daniel though. He has a bit of a sweet tooth.

33) Alright. What's your favourite food?
Anything delicious from an expensive restaurant that has a nice, quiet atmosphere where I can relax.

35) Favourite drink?
A glass of wine.

36) What is your favourite place?
My laboratory, if it’s up and running smoothly. Haven’t had much luck with that lately…

37) Least favourite?
Anywhere where there are large crowds or police officers hanging around. That makes me feel a bit… nervous.

38) Are you still wanting the quiz to end?
Yes, thank you.

39) Well, it's over.
Good. Now perhaps you would like to come back with me and, uh, take a tour of the lab. I’m sure you would find it quite educational. :evillaugh:

I really need to see Watchmen...

Haha, my dreams are always so stupidly entertaining!
So.
I’ve been putting off seeing this movie because I’ve heard it makes more sense if you read the comic first. Unfortunately, I’m still only about halfway through the book I started over the summer. School is killing my reading time and who knows if I’ll ever get around to finding a copy of that comic. :XD: I’m starting to think I should just give in and watch the darn movie. However, for your potential entertainment value, whatever you may get out of it…
I had a dream last night where I interpreted what little I know of the story to create my own plot! I have seen a scene or two of the real thing, but I have no clue if any of that actually made it into the dream version. Any similarities whatsoever?

In the dream movie Rorschach was the only main character. He was an FBI agent. He didn’t wear a costume or anything, and he had a really close cut military looking haircut. I don’t really know what he looks like, so in the dream he was kind of Japanese looking.
He discovered some kind of conspiracy in the FBI’s computer database, so he went on a mission to fight the people who were behind it. He set up secret bases all over the world, including in America, Saudi Arabia, and in the Himalayas. Most of the movie was people chasing him around and him fighting them. There was a fight scene in the middle where he jumped out of a plane and fought two guys while skydiving. He beat them by gouging their eyes out.
Rorschach also had the ability to create holographic duplicates of himself. The first time someone cornered him he used this to escape, but the second time someone shot and killed him. Then his ghost watched as people broke into his bases and tore them down or turned them into theme parks. He was pretty ticked off about that.
Later another FBI agent tried to figure out what had happened. He hacked into the FBI computer, but they had changed everything and the computer would only respond in French. The guy didn’t know how to read French, so he groaned, laid his head on the desk, and gave up.
The End

Also…
Augh, stop messing up the formatting, journals! It is really annoying when the boxes crowd the text and make everything at the edge blocked and unreadable. :rage:

I am having a lot of fun with my Abnormal Psychology class. First online class I ever took, couldn’t have asked for anything better. =D This week we are going over personality disorders, and the teacher posted a [link] to a site that gives you a quick and dirty analysis of how you rate on the scale for each of the ten different ones. So naturally I decided to see how some of the different characters I have created compare. I love psychoanalyzing them. Since I don’t tend to create characters to fit with any specific mental disorder it is interesting see how they compare after being developed.

First, myself-

Looks like the bug with not receiving art in my inbox from 3 people may be fixed. I’ve recently gotten new stuff from 2 of the 3. Yay! =D

Not much time for art now, sadly. I’ll still be working on my Tabula Rasa series when I have time though. Maybe can at least get a few more character sketches done sometime. Also hoping to get together with my dad soon and brainstorm over possible ideas for future chapters. This project has been so much fun. =)

And now, more memes, because I love them. =p Taken from :iconjesskat83:

Bug Update and Tabula Rasa Meme

Thu Sep 10, 2009, 12:04 AM
  • Mood: Frustrated
  • Reading: West Port Murders, an Authentic Account
  • Playing: Furry Paws, don't have time for anything else
Just sent in another bug report (after the last one a couple of months ago) about that weird problem of not being able to receive art updates from certain people. Lets just hope they can figure out what is happening. :hmm:

For some reason when I get bored at night I feel like doing memes. This one has been going around a lot lately, and I have really enjoyed reading what people have to say about the creation process behind their characters. =) That has always fascinated me because everyone is so different with how they approach it. Figured I would give it a try with my main characters from Tabula Rasa [link] even though they are still fairly new (started it three months ago) and in the process of being developed. As you can see I tend to draw random inspiration from all over the place.
Feel free to ask about any of the other characters that have appeared in my art or writing, though I don’t figure they are that well known since they don’t make regular appearances in comics or OCTs.

1) How you thought of their name
2) What made you create the character in the first place
3) How the character has changed over time (if they have changed)
4) Any random fun fact about that character

Dog
1) Coming up with names has always been a challenge for me. Fortunately Dog doesn’t need a full name since he will never remember it after the brainwashing. I wanted something that would reflect the way he is being treated by Vance, so he got a name that most would probably consider pretty insulting and degrading (isn’t it ironic that man’s best friend has come to take on so many negative connotations?). Plus I figure Vance is very uninspired creatively so instead of giving him a normal, human name to call him by he just picked something stupid and went with it. =p
2) He came to me in a dream, way back in 2007. It was a really short dream, and he was just sitting in a chair being terrorized by some kind of mad scientist-type person, but it left a big impression on me. A few months ago :iconsimplyprose: posted a prompt to create a character that personified one emotion and it brought back the memory of that dream, since I realized that the scene was a perfect representation of fear.
3) In the dream he was a werewolf and the people brainwashing him were going to train him to be an assassin. I gave this some thought and decided I liked the idea of him being a weredog and a bodyguard better. There is just something creepy about the image I had of someone taking this dog with them everywhere and sharing a strange connection with it that intimidates everyone else.
4) Since the drug erased almost all but his earliest memories he has no experience interacting with the world and won’t understand anything unless it is explained to him. Even though he’s somewhere in his late 20s he doesn’t know what sex is yet. :XD:

Dr. Fredrick Jameson
1) Had a hard time naming this guy. I wanted something that sounded professional. I don’t know anyone named Fredrick and to me it sounds like kind of a nerdy name. =p Originally his last name was going to be Joyce, but I decided that didn’t work. From now on I plan to use random lists of people (phone books, some magazine anthologies I own, etc.) to help me come up with last names.
2) I had in mind one of my favorite character types for villains- creepily cheerful. One of those strange people who will laugh or smile at awkward moments and takes pleasure in messing with the minds of his subjects. Not exactly a mad scientist, but that was kind of the feel I was going for.
3) Pretty much everything has changed. The dream didn’t give me much to work with, but I think the scientist in it was a lot older and bald. =p
4) He loves animals. They are unable to pick up anything with that “creepy sensor” that sometimes allows people or animals to tell when a person is bad news.

Samuel Vance
1) First name was random. I took his last name from the author of one of my favorite books (The Hyde Effect), Steve Vance. Not that I think he is a bad person, it just sounds like an awesome villain name. =D
2) Needed a sort of “big bad” for the story.
3) Not much so far. He does seem to be involved in different kinds of criminal activities as time passes, so I guess he has become more eclectic in his interests.
4) He is letting his hair go gray because he thinks the silvery look makes him appear more distinguished.

Mr. Hare and Mr. Smith
1) These guys were kind of minor characters so they didn’t get first names. Mr. Hare is named after this guy [link] which makes that the first time I have ever named a character after a historical figure. Smith is one of those names I have never wanted to use since it is so ridiculously common, so I figured I would give it to someone I didn’t particularly like
2) Originally created to be the source of Dog’s fear in the simplyprose prompt. I think part of the idea came to me from Igor in Van Helsing. Dracula asks him why he torments the chained werewolf, and he says, “It’s what I do.” So these guys are stupid and sadistic but the best “henchmen” Dr. Jameson could get to work for him on short notice. =p
3) Not much really, and no chance for it now that they’re out of the picture. Tried to make Hare a bit more sympathetic in chapter two, but that’s about it.
4) Reading over Hare’s lines always cracks me up because I imagine him speaking in that awesome Irish accent the actor used in the movie.
